The Wilro story begins with our founder, William T. Ross, whose own battle with tuberculosis in the 1890s inspired a lifelong commitment to improving others’ wellbeing. After spending years recovering at The Pines Sanatorium, Will Ross founded Will Ross Inc. in 1914, a medical supply company dedicated to supplying wellness products to hospitals.
As years of growth ensued, Will brought in his brother-in-law, Charles Paine, to run the business and expanded into one of the largest hospital supply firms in the United States. One of Will Ross’ famous brands in the 1960s and 70s was Wilro, an eponymous tribute to the firm’s founder.
Jack Bryson, Charles Pain’s son in law, acquired the specialty odor control division of Will Ross Inc. in 1979, renaming it Vaportek Inc. Will Ross ceased operations in the 1980s. John Bryson, now President of Vaportek, brought back the Wilro brand in 2021, as a new personal-care and wellness line.
